02Illustrative estimates
The financing estimator applies a hypothetical 60% loan to value ratio to the portfolio value you enter. It is not a quote. Actual loan to value ratios, amounts, interest, fees and terms vary by security, market conditions, position size and lender, and some securities will not qualify.
03Eligibility of securities
Being listed on the Bolsa de Valores de Lima or any other exchange does not make a security eligible as collateral. Liquidity, trading volume, volatility, free float, concentration and legal or contractual restrictions are all considered.
04Recourse
References to nonrecourse or limited recourse structures describe arrangements that may exist in the market. Whether any particular financing is limited recourse depends entirely on its loan agreement, applicable law and transaction structure.
05Market and collateral risk
- A decline in the price of pledged shares may lead to a requirement to post additional collateral or repay part of the loan, or may allow the lender to sell the collateral.
- Pledged shares are typically transferred to a custodian or the lender for the loan term, and voting rights and dividends may be affected.
- Loans denominated in a different currency from the collateral create exchange rate exposure.
- Pledging or transferring shares may have tax, securities disclosure or regulatory consequences.
